Getting a spray tan is an easy way to achieve that bronzed glow, but a few prep and care tips can take your results from good to flawless! Whether you're a spray tan newbie or a regular, these tips will keep your tan looking fresh and fabulous.

1. Exfoliate Like a Pro

Before your appointment, gently exfoliate your skin to remove dead cells, especially on dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles. This helps the spray tan adhere evenly and prevents patchiness. Aim for 24 hours before, if possible, for the smoothest base.

2. Skip the Lotion and Deodorant

Avoid any lotions, deodorant, or makeup right before your spray tan. These products can create a barrier, causing the spray tan to go on unevenly. Go au naturel to ensure an even application!

3. Wear Loose, Dark Clothing Afterward

After your tan, choose loose-fitting, dark clothes to avoid any smudges or lines. Tight clothes can rub against your skin, potentially leaving lighter patches in areas like your waistband or collar.

4. Hydrate Your Skin

Keeping your skin hydrated is essential for a long-lasting tan. Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer daily to lock in the glow without causing streaks. The more hydrated your skin, the longer your tan will last.

5. Avoid Hot Showers and Exfoliating Products

7. Pat, Don’t Rub, When Drying Off
